The Story of Sassan Zabeti

Every immigrant story begins somewhere.

Sometimes it begins with a decision. Sometimes with necessity. Sometimes with uncertainty and the hope that somewhere beyond the next border, there might be another possibility.

For Sassan Zabeti, that journey began decades ago.

He was part of a group of people forced to leave behind the familiarity of home and navigate an uncertain path through countries where they were waiting for visas and permission to continue. There was fear and uncertainty, but there was also something else he remembers vividly:

people.

People who helped. People who opened doors. People who offered protection and guidance when they didn't have to.

Those encounters stayed with him.

Eventually, his journey brought him to the United States. The International Rescue Committee helped facilitate his resettlement, and the U.S. government paid for his ticket to America.

He arrived with a story that had already taught him something profound:

A person's life can change because another person chooses to help.

And perhaps that understanding became part of the foundation for everything that came afterward.

Because Sassan's story did not end with arriving in America.

It became a story about what happens after someone is given an opportunity.

Today, he is Sassan Zabeti, JD, CPA, MBA, with Pangea Strategic Partners.

A professional whose life encompasses law, accounting, business, and strategic leadership.

The distance between the person waiting for a visa in a hotel and the professional he would eventually become is measured not only in years.

It is measured in opportunity, perseverance, education, and the willingness to build something from what life handed him.
